Oils extracted from flax seed are called flax seed oils. Flax Seed oil contains a high amount of omega3 and omega6 fatty acid. Omega3 fatty acid are essential for our overall body health.

Women, especially those that are experiencing menopause, benefits best from flaxseed oil. Lignans is contained in flaxseed and they are known to remove the negative emotional effects faced by woman who lacked in estrogen

Another group of woman to benefit most from flax seed oil are pregnant women. Flaxseed oils are researched to contain folate. Folate helps in the development of the foetus. In addition to this, Folate is found to help in the development of heart and nervous system of the growing baby.

If you purchased flaxseed oil as a supplement, they have to be refrigerated in order to retain their healthy benefits. Otherwise, it will become rancid. Take note that the container of flax seed supplements have to be dark because omega3 fatty acid is sensitive to light. Too much light, essential components of the fatty acid will be broken down!

Flax seed oils, when purchased as a supplement (usually as capsules in bottles), must be kept refrigerated to keep its nutritional value. If not, it will turn rancid. it must be kept in a dark bottle as light will breakdown the components of the essential fatty acids contained in the capsules.

What does flax seed oils contain?

They contain omega3 and omega6 essential fatty acid as well as ALA - Alpha Linolenic Acid. Flaxseed oil contains lignans and it was known that these oils contain at least 200% more than any other plants on earth!

Fiber is found in flax oil as well. Fiber helps to ensure that we have a healthy bowel system by removing the unwanted and toxins out of our body.

As flax seed oil contains fiber, it is sometimes used as a laxative to cure constipation.

Other Uses of flaxseed oil include controlling cardiac related health issues, for instance heart diseases. This is due to the high amount of omega3 that is presented.

In addition, it is also externally used to cure skin irritations.
